Steady gains in Europe-SSA trade, but some forwarders have doubts

Some forwarders on Europe-SubSaharan Africa trades are continuing to report strong momentum, their feelings backed by data, as Container Trades Statistics (CTS) continues to report healthy volumes in both directions. CTS’s July data (it reports two months in arrears) shows volumes climbed 2.3% compared with 2025 figures on SSA-to-Europe sailings, continuing a run of four successive months of year-on-year growth.
